Christmas is considered as one of the six most stressful life events, so it’s not surprising to hear the holiday season provokes anxiety and depression in children.

Children experience an abundance of emotions throughout the Christmas period, from excitement and anticipation to depression and fatigue. Holidays can lead to late bedtimes, over scheduling, as well as constant excitement, often exacerbating underlying depression, anxiety, or other mental illness.

An online initiative has released some relaxing activities to help to calm the Christmas chaos and provide parents with some methods to take a breath and level the overwhelming emotions. From mindfulness, to Pilates and even Yoga, the initiative is offering free-access to parents, to return a little bit of Zen back into family life.
