Every year we have heaps of Christmas themed baked products but none are more popular than rum balls! These can be made with real rum if you want a bit of a kick on Christmas day or a kid’s friendly version can easily be made by substituting the rum with essence.
It’s a simple recipe that only takes five minutes to make and that any family member can help with.
Recipe
Ingredients
250g Milk Arrowroot biscuits, Crushed
395g sweetened condensed milk
1 cup desiccated coconut
¼ cup cocoa
1 ½ tablespoons rum or rum essence
Method
Incorporate all ingredients together in a large bowl, mixing well. They should form a shapable mixture that stays together.
Use your hands to roll the mixture into separate balls, roughly 30g in size. Once done, sprinkle the desiccated coconut over all of the balls. Alternatively, you can sprinkle the coconut over a flat surface and roll the balls around on it.
Keep refrigerated until served.
