Dandruff is a common condition affecting the scalp. When a person has dandruff, the scalp becomes itchy and dead skin usually follows (which tends to regularly flake off, especially when itched). This is due to the skin replacing itself, and the severity can differ. Thankfully, there are several natural remedies for dandruff that may help.
Tea tree oil – Adding a drop of tea tree oil to your shampoo can help reduce the severity of dandruff.
Apple cider vinegar – Some believe that the acidity of the vinegar can help stimulate the shedding of dead skin cells. Add a few tablespoons to your shampoo, or combine with other essential oils and spray directly onto your hair.
Omega 3’s – Omega 3 fatty acids are vital to skin health, and a deficiency in it can cause dry hair, dry skin and dandruff. Eating salmon, mackerel, chia seeds, flaxseed and walnuts will help up your intake.
Baking soda – Baking soda is believed to act as a gentle exfoliant to remove dead skin cells. Try massaging it directly into wet hair, letting it sit for two minutes, then washing it out.
