WHY AM I SO TIRED? THIS MIGHT BE WHY…
We all could use a weekend to do nothing but sleep. But if your tiredness is starting to drag you down and cause complications in your everyday routine, then it might be time to look at the why behind your extreme exhaustion. Below are a few things that could be contributing to your tiredness.
Your sleep routine
Even if you’re going to bed at a decent time and not waking up too early, you might not be getting a good night’s sleep. Why? Perhaps you have co-sleeping toddlers who constantly kick at night? Or a snoring husband? It might be because the bedroom is too light or that you’re overstimulated from the day.
Make the bedroom a happy sleep zone by keeping it quiet, cool and device-free. Limit caffeinated drinks after 3.00pm and avoid alcohol before bed as it can cause fragmented sleep. As for the constant night waking from the kids, well, you can always try bribery to keep them in their own beds.
There are a number of health conditions that can cause fatigue including low iron, underactive thyroid, anxiety, depression, food intolerance, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, among many others. Contact your GP to check to make sure there isn’t an underlying medical condition causing your tiredness.
