Global Grooves 2016

Get your groove on with this year’s Global Grooves festival – a one-day, open-air event that is free to the public and a celebration of the cultural diversity of the Mackay region. Kicking off at 2.00pm, kids and adults will love the opening parade, the Small World Workshop and the fireworks finale at 8.30pm.

Mackay local and founded of Mums and Bubs Facebook page, Raelene Wells lost her mother, Marilyn Lillian Wilson to breast cancer in 2012. Since then she has made it her mission to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer.

The Pink Ribbon Charity Fair is a registered Cancer Council Queensland event, raising money and awareness to help conquer cancer. There will be rides for the kids, art and craft stalls, local entertainment, food and businesses on display.

Enjoy a fantastic, fun event in support of a great cause that touches many families.

Join over 40,000 Australians in a twilight walk to Light the Night and remember loved ones lost to a blood cancer. This is a visually spectacular and emotionally uplifting even that raises vital funds to ensure the Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland can continue to offer support to blood cancer patients and their families as well as fund the continuing research to provide better patient outcome.

The Mackay walk will take supporters through The Gooseponds at North Mackay with live music, guest speakers, food and beverage stalls and a beautiful lantern ceremony all planned for the evening.
