See Cairns in a different light at this year’s Cairns Festival. See city buildings and iconic locations around the region transformed into stunning works of art through light, music and other means of creativity.
The City Lights program has encouraged local and national artists to create large scale projections since 2015, transforming Cairns City Library into a giant piece of artwork every night of the festival from 6.30pm – 11.00pm.
This year’s collaborative artwork sees projection specialists from AGB events team up with Cairns artist Hayley Gillespie to transform her magical paintings into an animated story projected onto Cairns City Library. This year’s theme is ‘Migratory Patterns.’
Neon Dog Park
Discover a pack of four-legged friends playing on The Esplanade at the Neon Dog Park. Created by Carla O’Brien, this installation is made from LED Neon Flex and will light up The Esplanade with colourful pooches each night of the festival from 6.30pm. These furry friends are just waiting for you to pet and take a photo with them.
Discover presentations reflecting local stories and culture through partnerships with state and national arts organisations and local artists. Enjoy an original show presented through circus, dance, arts and more.
