Cairns is known for its fresh produce and delicious seafood, but with so many places to choose from, it can be difficult to decide where to eat! Don’t know what you’re craving? We’ve compiled a list of where you can find the most delicious, family-friendly bites in Cairns.

1. Wharf One Cafe

Located right on the wharf at Trinity Inlet, Wharf One Cafe serves up excellent coffees, seafood, healthy bowls, smoothies, and more – with a beautiful view of the Cairns harbour, and a “tree house” playground right outside!

2. Cakes Annietime

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, Cakes Annietime has just what you need. Visit this adorable little cafe for a scrumptious sweet treat and coffee, and fulfil that craving! The kids will love picking out one of the delicious colourful cupcakes – a trip to Cakes Annietime won’t disappoint.

3. Suprimo

Breakfast, lunch, dinner – it’s all an option at Suprimo. If you’re craving pizza, Italian, or seafood with an ocean view, this is the place to go. Kids meals are available, with options including pancakes, bacon and egg on toast, spaghetti, cheeseburger, fish and chips, and more – each of which comes with a fun activity pack to keep your little one entertained!

4. Paradise Palms

Paradise Palms’ menu has a bit of everything to offer the family whether you’re after a filling sandwich, a refreshing salad or some classic fish and chips, it’s all there to satisfy your cravings. A kids menu is also available, offering yummy nibbles including chicken strips with chips, Hawaiian pizza, calamari with chips, and more. To top it off, Paradise Palms has a huge playground featuring an exciting jumping pillow, cubby houses, climbing frame, slides, and more – the kids won’t get bored here, for sure.

5. Rusty’s Markets

Open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Rusty’s is a well known frequented area for Cairns locals. At first glance you’ll notice delicious fresh local fruits and vegetables on display, but venture further in and you’ll discover sweet baked goods, smoothies, seafood, and other amazing treats. Most stands have free samples of their nibbles on display.

6. Burrito Bar

If you’re after some fuss-free Mexican food, Burrito Bar in Smithfield Shopping Centre is the place to go. A children’s menu is offered to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters, and the restaurant is situated right next to a playground with climbing equipment and a slide so the kids can burn off their energy!

7. Trinity Beach Tavern

The atmosphere and hospitality of Trinity Beach Tavern is loved by both locals and tourists. This tavern is family oriented with something for all ages, and a stunning view of the ocean while you munch on your lunch, dinner, or snack! Don’t forget to take your kids for a play at the playground just across the road, right by the beach.

8. Cazalys

Cazalys is ideal for a meal and a play – including an $8 kids menu and delectable desserts to keep everyone happy. The children will have a ball at the Kids Club House indoor play centre which is supervised during certain hours to ensure you can have a moment of peace and quiet and enjoy your meal while the kids play. They’ll have a good sleep tonight, for sure!

9. Brothers League Club

Brothers League Club is known for its delicious all-you-can-eat buffet, served up every day of the week. Lunch and dinner is available every day, with an additional Aussie breakfast buffet available on Sundays. As a child, nothing is better than being surrounded by food at a buffet and being able to choose whatever you want to add to your plate. Yummy!

10. Splash Seafood Restaurant

Up for something a little fancier, or just an easy family lunch? Looking to get a real taste of Cairns? Splash Seafood Restaurant is just the place to go, with various scrumptious seafood dishes on the menu, and a children’s menu too. Each menu includes colour-in activities and all children are provided with crayons, and a high chair if necessary.
