ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE QUEEN’S BATON RELAY (MACKAY)

Are you ready Mackay? The Queen’s Baton is almost here! This historic event puts our city in the spotlight, and brings along celebration, community spirit, and… some traffic delays. Here’s all you need to know about Queen’s Baton Relay coming through Mackay.

What is there to do?

MONDAY, 19TH MARCH
– QBR in Bowen – Community Celebration
– QBR in Airlie Beach – Community Celebration

TUESDAY, 20TH MARCH
– QBR in Mackay – Community Celebration

WEDNESDAY, 21ST MARCH
– QBR in Moranbah – Community Celebration

 

Will the Queen’s Baton Relay affect getting the kids to school, or getting to work?

Traffic will be delayed from 1:30pm onwards in North Mackay and Mackay city centre on Tuesday, 20th March.

3:10pm FINISH (of first section) John Breen Memorial Park

4:00pm-4:30pm START Offshore Superboat
4:50pm River St
5:00pm Brisbane St
5:08pm Alfred St
5:15pm Wellington St
5:22pm Victoria St
5:30pm-6:30pm FINISH Bluewater Quay, community celebration

Be sure to arrange alternative transport if needed, or travel a different route to get where you need to go!
