4 THINGS TO LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING CHILDCARE

Choosing child care for the first time can be one of the most daunting decisions parents face. My Little Feet Childcare have given some tips to help parents know what to look for when deciding if a centre is the best fit for you and your little ones.

1. The Little People

The children will be the best indicator of how comfortable/stimulated they are in the environment. Do they seem happy and engaged? Are they affectionate and comfortable with the educators?

2. The Big People

Most parents will agree that happy and consistent staff is the most important thing. Ask about the staff members’ qualifications and how long they have worked at the centre – having the same friendly faces greet your little ones creates a comforting and reliable environment.

3. Look around

Ask to have a look at the indoor (all rooms) and outdoor spaces. A centre does not have to be brand new to have a warm and inviting feel. Is there lots of room to play and learn and are the spaces used creatively? Have they included influences from the local community?

4. Go with your gut

You are the expert on your children and will know if somewhere feels like a safe place for your child to learn and grow. If you are unsure about whether a centre is the right fit, have a chat with the Director about what you are looking for and organise a drop-in play-date with your child.

My Little Feet Childcare in Aitkenvale and Pimlico offer premium quality child care from 6 weeks of age.
